Short Description:
The objective of this Strategy is to optimize the results of the Ecological Transition for employment and to ensure that people and regions take full advantage of the opportunities of this transition and that no one is left behind. The Just Transition Strategy includes different measures and instruments. Specifically, for the short-term challenges of the decarbonization process, the Strategy incorporates the Urgent Action Plan for coal regions and plants enclosure 2019-2021 (Urgent Action Plan), which seeks to respond to the closure of mining operations. as of December 31, 2018, as well as coal-fired power plants and nuclear power plants. To achieve this, the Just Transition Agreements are born, which will be applied in those territories where closures may put companies and economic activity in difficulties.
