Short Description:
The Network arises from the need detected among the municipalities to coordinate in the fight against climate change. Since its establishment, it coordinates and promotes local policies to combat climate change in Spanish cities and towns, allowing better results to be achieved in the fight against climate change and in mitigating its effects. The Network is a technical support instrument that offers tools for Local Governments to achieve their objectives. It is also the main means of translating the objectives of the national policy on climate change and energy management to the local scale. Currently, more than 60% of the Spanish population resides in the Local Governments of the Network. Origin: FEMP Spanish federation of municipalities and provinces
