Short Description:
The city of Seville presents an important climatic susceptibility, due to its geographical situation and territorial dynamics. Additionally, being aware of the effect of climate change at a global and national level, Seville joined Mayors Adapt in 2015, within the framework of COP 21, and has been developing different actions based on an assessment of the main risks (vulnerability) to those facing the city and considering the existing climate projections. In general, the main expected impacts of climate change in the city will be a trend of rising temperatures, an increase in the frequency of heat waves, a decrease in average rainfall, an increase in torrentiality and a high incidence of periods of prolonged drought. It should be noted that the preparation of the vulnerability and risks diagnosis was a highly participatory process for which the Advisory Council as well as the public were consulted through different events and organized workshops.
